Escape from Pirates Cove follows a formula familiar to anyone whos seen enough kids movies and also the earlier Free Willy tales. Seriously, do you for a second doubt that Kirra will save the day? So the trick, then, is to get to the inevitable happy ending in such a way that young kids will
joy the ride and parents wont cringe. Mission accomplished, for the most part. Escape from Pirates Cove is sweet without being too cloying, predictable but still entertaining. Plus, there are all sorts of positive, love the Earth and its animals messages splashed throughout the story, not to mention plenty of beautiful shots of South Africas beautiful landscapes and waterways.
