Werewolf: The Dark Survivors is a mockumentary playing on Animal Planet in preparation for Halloween spooks and scares. It certainly does live up to its name, being a seemingly routine documentary about werewolves at first until, well, they became very real.
This mockumentary is by no means
That should be really obvious, but there have been comments and complaints here and there in the fact its shown as a documentary. The thing is to NOT TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY. It is a work of fiction presented as reality ala other mockumentaries like Spinal Tap and Paranormal Activity.
The science in the show is a mixture of some real-deal stuff and, of course, fictional elements. Again, if you take this as a good piece of fiction and not something real (which, again, you shouldnt), then youll be able to suspend your disbelief just fine and enjoy it. The real good part of the mockumentary, though, is not the faux-scientific basis and explanations and histories. Its the character drama that lies beneath it all, exploring the human (or non-human, depending on how you look at it) condition within the confines of an apparently real program.
