I thought it was very boring and time consuming melodrama.

I watched this movie out of curiosity to see what else could TomSelleck do beside the old Hawaii Private Eye series of the pastdecades. Sadly I was and felt very disappointed with a slow moving andnowhere to go no point melodrama. Given the facts about the story line,I would not be surprised if any other actor could have done better, butdefinitely not even better! I set through the boring dialogs andwatched many meaningless streams of small events that were somehow tieup the story, but I failed to see any of them! My recommendation is foryou to try another boring movie with more action and meaninglessdialogs that might make you feel better than this one made me feel forwasting my money on the rental, plus the time I wasted watching thiscrap production! I let you decide which one! Steve H. from Chicago.

You'll have no remorse for choosing this movie

Jesse Stone: No Remorse is a movie that chooses substance over style. The movie stays away from tons of action scenes, impressive cameraangles and CGI. Instead this is a movie with a story that actuallyfocuses on the story (consisting mainly of dialogue). The movie islabeled as a crime/mystery but personally I would label it more as adrama centering around burned out detective Stone's life and hisinteractions with other interesting characters in his small town, and asubplot about the solving of a couple of murder cases and robberies. The subplot isn't as thorough though. Therefore I advice people thatare going to watch this movie to not expect to watch a complex'whodunit' movie. I haven't seen the previous installments of the JesseStone series but I can say that in the way this movie was presented Iwas able to follow the plot. I must say this movie did raise mycuriosity, so I might watch the other Jesse Stone movies. I'm not muchof a television viewer, let alone a television film viewer. I was verysurprised to see how good this movie is. I found this to be better thana lot of movies I watched in the cinema recently. The intriguingdialogue and good acting makes this charming little film a worthwhileexperience. 8/10

    Excellent TV Work

It has been a long time since I watched a series with such a delight. The Jesse Stone series is surely going into TV-History. It is beyondtime and will be watchable even in 50 years from now. Tom Selleck is anicon of the 80's, but I'm sure he will be remembered for thesewonderful movies. Tom is playing with minimalism, but every word, look, and breath is telling more than any short handed written hip cop seriescan say.
The pictures and the music are leading you into the small town worldperfectly. If you are open for it, you can dive in and follow.
Even from an European perspective I can tell, that America can be proudof such a quality TV-work.

Jesse Stone, No Remorse Aims for Greatness and Hits the Mark

No Remorse, the latest installment of the magnificent Jesse Stoneseries is only for those who love good character driven drama performedby some of today's greatest character actors. And its for those who canappreciate lens work which teases our senses with charming Cape Codscenery in contrast to gritty Boston backdrops. The multiple storylines keep it moving, some stories meandering through the work like abrook through the salt meadows, still others rushing with the force ofa North Atlantic tide. But all the stories flow in the same direction, some to a conclusion and others to a continuance... like stories do inreal life. And as in real life, Jesse's flawed character remains but wecan forgive him. After all, who among us has not experienced a brokenheart, if not a broken spirit? And who has not witnessed the struggleof loved ones with substance abuse? Talented, productive people with aproblem... we have all known one and in some cases we have been one.And so we can all root for Jesse and in doing so we root for ourselves.

    Outstanding!

Warning:this review may contain spoilers... Outstanding entry in theseries. It is also worth not that Mae Whitman also reprises her role asEmily Bishop although it is not credited here yet. It was a bitdisappointing that a cliffhanger was built with regards to the towncouncil meeting which was not resolved. I suppose that they will waituntil the next installment to resolve the conflict between Stone andthe town council. The rough justice dealt to the villain rang true andwas a satisfying conclusion to the mystery. I find it really impressivethat Mr. Selleck can bring wit and humor to a character which at thebest of times can be best described as melancholy. Two thumbs up!!

The best Jesse Stone So Far

We thought that Jesse Stone No Remorse was excellent. Tom Selleck is athis best playing Jesse and he is as handsome as ever!!! We were alittle frustrated at the ending but will just have to wait untilInnocents Lost airs. Jesse is very methodical in looking at crime scenevideos and he is very adept at recreating the actual crime scenes. Ilove the way he interacts with Rose. Maybe in the next instalment,Innocents Lost, he will become involved with Rose, and forget about hisex. Hopefully, at the hearing, Jesse, Rose and Luthor will bereinstated. The casting of William Sadler as Gino is great. I rememberhim from Die Hard 2 but in Jesse Stone he is perfect in the part. Hestill looks to be in great shape. Can't wait for the next Jesse Stone.

Intelligent Television Movie for Intelligent Viewers

I have read all the novels and have seen all the movies with TomSelleck. He will always be remembered as Magnum P.I., but Jesse Stoneis his very best work. If you are looking for loads of action NoRemorse will not fit the bill. It has excellent characters, very smartdialog and great performances. I am tired of reading how this series isslow. I don't want car chases and super human cops kicking down doors.Tom Selleck's Jesse is flawed, human and holding on for dear life. Thesupporting case is first rate, William Devane, Saul Rubinek (whosecharacter is very much wounded like Jesse), Stephen McHattie as theState Homicide Captain, Kathy Baker as Rose and Kohn Sudduth as Lutherare all excellent, nothing blazing, but the perfect touch by each insupport of Tom Selleck. Another under rated performance is WilliamSaddler as Gino Fish, his cat and mouse game with Jesse is alwaysinteresting to watch. In No Remorse, Gino lets his his guard down everso slightly to Jesse, SLIGHTLY, their scenes together are superb. Ilook forward to Tom Selleck's Jesse Stone, is in many ways the moviescharacterizations are superior to the novels. That is very hard to do.In No Remorse Jesse is still suspended as Paradise Police Chief, he isdrinking heavily. There is a crime wave in town and Luther and Rose areprohibited from talking to Jesse. Capt Healy calls on Jesse for helpwith apparent serial killer in Boston. The dialog and performances areexcellent and my only disappointment was the ending. Of course theending is the set up for the next Jesse Stone movie Innocents Lost. Myfinal note is that this web site does not make note of this production. My understanding is that production is complete and another movie isbeing readied for filming.
