- UNREQUITED is a psychological thriller and tells the story of Ben Jacobs, a troubled young man who, on his 18th birthday, has to leave the group home for "troubled teens" where he has been living for the past several months and move back in with his alcoholic mother. Upon his return, Ben soon discovers that his girlfriend, Jessica Morgan, has moved on with her life and is now dating an older college guy. Desperate for love and unable to cope with losing Jessica, Ben's troubled past catches up with him as he kidnaps her in an attempt to regain her affection. Spiraling out of control and on a very dangerous path, Ben must ultimately decide whether to let her go, or hold on to the one person he loves, even if it means destroying them both in the process. Very Powerful Psychological Thriller / Terrific Cast
This is a low budget movie -- you can't tell by the production value(which is quite good) - - but that it has few locations and a smallcast. And it's that cast, in combination with a very tight script, thatmakes this movie a standout.
The rising tension is very well paced, and I found myself drawn in moreand more as it went along. It also avoids clich? by having charactersbehave in unexpected (but completely logical) ways. For example, thesheriff seems rather macho, but then turns out to have a lot ofcompassion without diminishing his power.
The cast is crisp and their performances are layered. There are no twodimensional good guys or bad guys -- everyone is fully realized. Thecast is a joy to watch.
This is a textbook example of how a low budget movie should be written.I'm guessing they spent around $2 million on it. Money well spent.
Oh, and the director was one of those guys in the reality show "On theLot." I saw the show and thought he was too laid back to do a thriller-- but he really proved me wrong!

Crazy in love.
Young man returns home after some time in a rehab/foster home. Partlybecause as a child he witnessed his father's suicide and his mother hadproblems. He finds out the girl he's had a crush on since before hewent away has a boyfriend and he flips and kidnaps her.
The movie is only mildly interesting. The main reason is that there isnothing special about it; nothing that stands out. Most people haveseen this type of movie before and probably better versions. So unlessthere is a new twist, some clever writing, great suspense and cast,there is no point unless you have nothing better to do (my excuse). Inshort, the movie is an uneventful walk through the park; a "TV level"or kind of movie and is where it should be viewed. Love, Boloxxxi.
