This movie is not for everyone! Believe and feel of LOVE has to be strong to be in TRANCE... If you have not enjoyed the movie then truly you have never been in love!

Loads of criticism has been going around for this movie but allow me tosay that this movie is not really for everyone. The feeling and believein love has to be strong to get into the trance of Prince of Persia:The Sands of Time...
If you have been in love then after watching this movie you will easilysay that this movie is a "Fairy Love Tale". I say this because thecharacters and their chemistry can make you feel that it is out of theworld.
The character of 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time' itself issketched with such perfection that it can actually make you feel thepower of LOVE. It is the way too pure.
The Fantasy is so beautifully choreographed that it makes you feel thepurity of the Artist, Gyllenhall himself. It is indeed a totally newway of making a movie and for me it strengthen the believe that if someone can bring Oscar to Sub Continent then it has to be Gyllenhall's artof perfection...
Overall, a master piece of Jake Gyllenhall. Just don't go to watch it;I request you to FEEL the FEEL of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time!

    Horrible,pathetic, ridiculous...

The movie is another try of the American movie industry to convince theworld that they don't know a bit of history and that they are"alimghty"! Yes people the movie barely represents the actual eventsand the perisan army - what the * - are we watching "Lord of the rings"for crying out loud !?!?!!? The persians were a highly developedsociety, they were not a slaughtering bastard herds that look likeAmerican rednecks. All the time I was watching it I couldn't believethat it is so pathetic. At the end I was just sorry I spent my timewatching it. If you can endure the fact that is no way near to thehistorical truth still is a lost of time!!! they have European likeface features! Their king looked nothing like a homosexual transvestitefrom a German love parade. /note that i mean no offense to people thatare, i respect their decision, but when Hollywood is trying to convinceus in something that is obviously wrong... that's a whole other story/The movie is crap! I am horribly disgusted by the movie if i could iwould have my money back from the movie theater! i am deeply saddenedthat WB dealt with such stupid movie! The movie gives the persians sucha bad reputation that i think the producers should apologize on theevening news on all television networks, to the country of Iran, and tothe people of Iran, although i doubt that the present day people ofIran are really successors of the ancient persians, but they do saythey are, so we must respect their right of identification, must notwe, same as the homosexuals, or you, my dear producers think otherwise?

By and Large it was Phony Garbage

Right from the starting the movie tries to keep every CGI sand stormthrilling. After one or two scenes you start to predict them.
Most importantly, the movie has a typical American attitude of, we arethe good guys. It shows as though every Persian is a terrorist. Mindyou , you are exploiting their homeland.
The appreciable thing is, the propagandist scenes don't have backgroundtheme.
It isn't a heavy or a detailed description of the video game.
The cinematography is candid and gives the feel of a masala soap.
    The editing is appreciable.
Just because Jerry Bruckmeyer happened to strike it rich with hype , heseeks to follow it up with this most hyped academy wannabe.
...couldn't they have tried to get a good looking guy for this? Whenthe camera is showing Jake sideways, his eyes are all sticking out likea FLY.
Gemma Atherton played exactly the same role (and even looked the same)as she did in Clash of the Titans. She was suppose to be a great beautybut she look so fugly when the Princes' first see her face.....
A pirates movie with a new Jonnie Depp which deserves kudos only forit's editing department and nothing else.

The Prince of Persia is the man, trust me

The Prince of Persia : The Adventure Begins (2010) is one of the manyfilms that tried to actually launch a series of sequels before theresults of the box office receipts were in. The producers are so surethat Prince of Persia part one would be so successful that they willproduce a series of films based upon the title character. Anotherexample of counting your cash before it arrives in your hand. I am gladfor one that this film won't take off the ground. In particular,"Dastan's Theme" sounds so ripped off from Indy that I actually laughedout loud when it first played.
A preposterous variation on "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend ofJack Sparrow", with elements of Harold Potter movies mixed in. The filmis highly uneven: the training sequences are fun and surprisinglyhumorous, but when the REAL plot begins, it has no coherence, and nointerest. Gladbag isn't a great choice for the title role of The Princeof Persia; he is an uncharismatic actor, at least here.
The Prince of Persia is the kind of hero this world needs. Dodgingswords, running on water, diving through sand piles, all the things weall wish we could do.

    Expected better

    I will keep this brief.
My main qualm about the film was that it was set in Persia with allPersian characters, however a British accent just does not make youbelieve in the film. Seemed like I was watching the old Robin Hood comeMummy.
Most actors are more than capable of engaging themselves into the role, make them work for the money they are paid, honestly!
The special effects were OK, only because the high quality we have seenfrom Avatar and others have set a high standard.
Definitely not worth the money watching this at cinema, I would waitfor it to be shown on TV, not even DVD.

    Gyllenhaal movie of Hollywood

Am really a big fan of Gyllenhaal movies. but not this one for sure. The movie boasts of a powerful cast besides the lead actors too. Wehave yet another bakwaas performance by Gyllenhaal, sure doesn't wantto remember in his entire life. Ben Kingsley is playing a tough guywith little dialogues but fitting in this role. Alfie Molina is tooloud to handle, silly laugh... oh god!!!. Most importantly, no body isdominating the screen over the others with a clich?d acting; thecharacters seem to have taken oath to bore all the viewers to the core. The music score of the movie was another big disaster, hardly catchingbits one or two. Some of the songs that have accompanying dances arebeautiful and the tunes by Sameer are touching. my sincere advice is toforget about this movie. i think i have wasted lot of time in writingmy reviews about this type of bakwaas movie. Finally i can say onlyonething, Gyllenhaal, please do some original movies, do not remake anyHindi or English movies, because Mike Newell is having really goodtalent as director. And next time please use some lights on the sets orshoot the movie in some sunlight. i even don't want to rate this movie, but still because am fan of Gyllenhaal, i can give 2 out of 10 forGyllenhaal, not to the movie.

another big budget franchise (part 1 probably) that buckles under its own ambitious weight.

This is a fairly open and shut film and your enjoyment of it willdepend on what kind of film you like to watch. if for example you arewilling to let slip completely shallow characters, poor plot, muddledstory-line, bad dialogue and poor writing in general you might want tobook yourself a ticket with the hope that at least the action sequenceswill be well choreographed and shot and that the special effects willbe passable. Let me warn you NOW film fans, DO NOT MAKE THAT MISTAKE,do not part with your cash. For If it is the rule that big budget filmsmust at least be visually engaging with good action scenes then thisfilm is the exception to that rule. i will start simply by saying thatthe action scenes are so poorly shot you won't be able to follow whatis happening. Secondly the characters are so poorly realised andexplored that you won't care about anything that happens to them.thirdly the plot is so confused and reliant on the dagger device andthe sands of time that the film itself gets muddled in the laws of itsown fantasy and buckles. the biggest sin of all here is that the wholefilm for all its bang and all its buck is just BORING, and notsporadically boring but consistently boring and dull. I can understandpeople liking transformers, a big part of me loves watching robotssmash each other, the kid in me loved watching quadritch jump out ofthe exploding bomber in a mechanised suit of war on avatar.. this filmhowever is just unforgivably boring considering its subject matter, waytoo ambitious and just buckles under its own weight, the film is like adesperate stand up comic; desperate for approval but dramaticallyfailing in its increased effort. don't waste your time on it.

Terrible film - a "how not to act in a blockbuster"

I went to watch the world premier of the new Jerry Bruckheimer summer"blockbuster" - prince of Persia The sand of time yesterday at Starcityin Birmingham UK.
    Some spoilers below.
All I can say is what a load of rubbish ! I was so let down by thefilm. The acting by all in the film (including Jake Gyllenhaal, GemmaArterton & Ben Kingsley) was really really bad - at times I thought Iwas watching a comedy sketch making fun of bad actors. The comedic partof the film played by Alfred Molina was terrible - the jokes just didnot work.
The special effects (as you would imagine) were great and some of thefight sequences were good - but there was no plot - except everyonefight to location 2 then to location 3 then back to location 1....really bad.
No one cared who died or lived in the film - both brothers (TobyKebbell, Richard Coyleand) and father (Ronald Pickup) did nothing tosupport Jake Gyllenhaal - which I think really showed in the overallfilm. These character really needed to help support the main characterto give depth, but this was just not the case.
And Ben Kingsley as the main "bad guy" was soooo bad. They really didnot build his character up as evil at all - one small act does not makea terrifying foe for the hero of a film.
Although I got free tickets for this event (thank you sky . com) - Iwas totally let down by the film. Really really disappointed.

Warning: stay very far away! Danger!

I generally avoid paying full price for first-run movie tickets becauseof this sort of drivel. Unfortunately, I let some friends talk me intomaking an exception, and I actually sat through this clunker. It was ahot day in May, and the theater was well air-conditioned, which is allthat prevented this experience from being a total waste of money. Andthat's pretty much the bottom line here; nothing about this film works.Nothing.
Gyllenhaal is miscast. The producers wanted bankability, notcredibility. Once he was chosen to play a Persian Prince in 1249, thescript was forced to acknowledge the anachronism. For these writers itmeant doing it over and over and over! Race is the tiresome focus oftoo many scenes. ou can thank the special effects team for bailing outGyllenhaal's arrogant butt and making this movie fun to watch here andthere.
The technology is appealing, but the sets and desert CGI looked prettyfake, and the brief parts we see of Persia look like an underpopulatedgroup of actors in costumes on soundstages. The movie just wasn'trealistic, or grounded in any kind of reality. Gyllenhaal is squeakyclean, and he's an uninvolved performer. He trades on attitude &likability, not competence in the role. It would take an edgierperformer than Gyllenhaal to send nasty material like this over.(race-bating, disabled-bashing, a lynching!??!) Nobody ever went brokeunderestimating the taste of the American public. How the clods whowrote this thought we'd find massacres and lynchings humor fodder, Idon't know. This movie is the pits, and I wish it would bomb. But itwon't. Trouble is, US viewers are so numbed by marketing hoopla, they'dgo and see a three-legged cockroach race if they were told there was aproduct tie-in and a name star.
Don't believe the studio plants and hype -- disappointing at the most

    Entertaining but Predictable

I saw this movie this evening at a pre-screening event in Manhattan'sAMC Empire Theater on 42nd Street and 8th Avenue. I had no idea what Iwas going to see because it was a "blind screening", which meant you'reinvited to what a movie that you don't know by a studio that won'treveal themselves. Well, when we got there I asked one of the AMC staffif they screened any prints that morning (usually pre-screeners arrivethe day before or the day of the showing). The staffer confirmed thatthey screened a print for this movie (but it's not due out until the28th. So after seeing this movie, I can say that it will surlyentertain you, but it may not satisfy you if you crave change, unpredictability and something different. This, in the end, is a Disneymovie and Disney will only invest in sure things. That's what thisis... a sure thing. It's fun, exciting, but the characters are not deepand many of them are difficult to differentiate from one another.
So here's my big beef with it, this is yet another story about war inthe middle east (there has always been war in the middle east), but nowa time travel element is included yet they still can't stop fighting?Really? Also, the gypsy character was too much like a fat Jack Sparrow,I feel Disney is trying to further cash in on the absurdity of such acharacter.

    Greedy Producers on a Spree!

A great beginning - the 12th century storyline was well-done and thenthe whole movie just started to go south. The story-line was very weak- basically a chase movie that shamelessly uses the tsunami to get someoohs and aahs - the entire audience in the theater I saw this movie atwas silent at the tsunami scene - people were uncomfortable not knowingwhat they were supposed to feel.
I am not being too critical, I am a great fan of The PIRATES QUADRUPOLEand have been proud, but this movie is really really awful. They haveseem to put in loads of effort and poured in money, but movie is allabout everyday CGIs! They seem to be introducing character by characterwithout any relevance and the makeup is so bad that sometimes you wantto turn your head away..UGLY! And, the graphics, please don't tell meyou spent money on this...it looks like some students college graphicsproject. Really shameful to think of the fact that we make such a awfulgraphics.
Story - Did Yakin write this when he was 12? 'A weather weapon on looseand people chasing it' - how original!! and whats the deal with thewhole 12th century connection?????? can somebody explain ???? Make-up -This was so important to the film and turns out to be absolutelyamateurish. Few of the roles don't even look human. Example: Kingsley-looks like leather face.
Other horrible things - bad CGI, out of place humor , boring Backgroundscore (if there was any)Etc........
There's gonna be hell to pay when they finally thaw out W. Disney ...

Prince of Persia - A franchise too far...

I'll make this short and sweet...
The script is predictable, unfunny and unoriginal...
    The direction is poor...
    The editing extremely disjointed...
    Special effects are good...
Gyllenhaal and Arterton are far too good for this flimsy material andare the movies only shining light. The chemistry is good albeitpredictable and Gylenhaal makes a surprisingly good action lead.Arterton looks stunning and acts amicably with the 1980's TV moviescript.
However... Packaged up i can see a franchise in the making... But dropNewell, get a decent script, keep Arterton, and stop trying to remakean Indiana Jones/Assassins Creed hybrid! It doesn't work! Not worth atrip to the Cinema, wait for the DVD.

Pass the Popcorn bucket.......I'm Gonna Hurl

All the features of this movie are big historical lies. It is apolitical film to promoting the Anti-Persian sense in the world!! Iwould like to say that I am so sorry for all participants of thismovie!! Better dialogue emanates from the urine-soaked alley behind aBooze Buster. If somebody is really keen on discovering of Persian hugehistory, I can introduce him/her a lot of references which are notguided and censored by western researchers!! It is a disaster in thirdMillennium to see such a big censorship in a biggest film producercompany in the world. I would like to finish my comments by a question:What are the behind and hidden goals of this movie by showing thePersians as beasts and wilds? After watching this movie, I was justsurprised, I had a strange feeling. In fact, I understood the power ofthe media for changing the history and the truth. As an example andbased on this film, that is so funny that other people think Persiansspeak in Arabic, wear and fight like them. I respect all cultures butwhen I see that a historical fact can be falsified simply by afull-of-digital-effect movie, then this really frightens me about thefuture. Whoes turn is tomorrow? Arab? Pelestinian? North Korean? or youas a nation? Who knows?! on of the greatest CG Film...5 star From me!!! congratulations for CG team...

It's up there is one of the biggest flops of all time.

As soon as I heard Gyllenhaal was put in the role as the Prince ofPersia, I was excited as he has performed brilliantly in many seriousdramas, but apprehensive because this was suppose to be an all actionDisney film.... Oh yes I was right to be worried, this was utter trite,Gyllenhaal and Price of Persia have been Disney-fide (in a bad way)Gyllenhaal just relies on his wit and good looks (of which I was kindof put off by his long, greasy hair) and there is no depth to hisdialogue, his English accent reminded me at times of Dick Van Dyke inMary Poppins.
The funniest parts were unintentional for example when Princess Taminawho one of the 'worlds beauty' unmasks herself to the soldiers and theyall stop and gasp in amazement...yeah she is pretty but not THAT much. This therefore added to the very unrealistic plot and at times I felt Iwas being spoon-fed information which was not needed; 'THEREFORE THEDAGGER USES SAND TO TURN BACK TIME!?', such information made theexperience of watching very tiring and as for action, when iteventually comes, it had been so overly CGI'd that there is barely noactual on location stunts, very disappointing. This is up there withsome of the biggest flops of all time, please do not make a sequel.

    A Nutshell Review: Hallelujah!

Unfortunately I do not have an iota of experience with the Prince ofPersia games, given that they were all the rage some 20 odd years agowhen I was still in school, being the oddity that used the Apple IIecomputer before Apple became sexy, amongst a group of geeks swappingtheir latest adventures as the titular character on some computer basedadventure. I'm sure Prince of Persia by now has a seizable fan base towarrant a large scaled action adventure slated as a summer blockbuster, but if only had Mike Newell's execution made it less meandering than amedieval Indiana Jones.
With three scribes working on Jordan Mechner's story from the game, thefilm suffered from the lack of coherence as it strung together premiseafter premise of mindless mumbo jumbo to pass off as mythologyinvolving time travel with a dagger as the DeLorean and some precioussand as the fuel for its flux capacitor. And I wonder just who isresponsible for the plenty of plot loopholes and conveniences foundlittered throughout the film, that you'll roll your eyes no sooner atthe next clich? that managed to find its way on screen. Clich?s so bad, you'll want to reach out and utilize the dagger of time yourself toescape from a horrible story.
Take for instance, the usual bad guy monologue, and the trust to anunidentified, faceless minion to finish off the hero, which led to anembarrassingly bad take (ran out of film?) on how an interrupt occurredto save our Prince. Or how by keeping mum instead of trying to kick ourhero's rear in front of an adoring army just didn't make much senseother than to provide for a means to a more conclusive finale. And whatabout the inexplicable ego boosting of needing to have a preciousartifact put in a display case for all and sundry to see and admire, with an "alarm system" of only 1 dagger throwing minion, again afaceless and glorious extra?
There are many of such strange set ups that you wonder if they shouldjust junk the story, and show action after action. After all, withcomputer wizardry employed in full glory to bring about plenty of sandbuffering around, and that tinge of thick orange that drenched thefilm, nothing seems to be impossible as our hero had to overcomejealous brotherly rivals, betrayal, a feisty princess (played by GemmaArterton whose star is slowly but surely rising), with a mouth thatjust wouldn't stop spewing sarcasm (with lips always so seductivelypursed that one wondered why it took so long for the Persian Prince toplant a big fat wet kiss to shut her up), and go up against enemieslike the precursors of Assassins, soldiers, and ostriches even. Yes, Ikid you not, as Alfred Molina's Sheik Amar runs an underground bettingring with expertise on ostrich races, and provides some laughter as ananti- government critic if you translate his lines into a modern daycontext.
Jake Gyllenhaal put on plenty of muscle to be that swashbuckling heroso sorely missed by Hollywood standards, and going by the skills of hischaracter Dastan, one may mistake him for being Prince of Parkour aswell, with his various leaps and jumps overcoming various terrain andenemies constantly. Gyllenhaal may just cement his reputation as asummer film marquee star with enough chops to take on action, and doesa pretty decent job as the hero with street smarts and a devil may careattitude. As mentioned, Gemma Arterton's star is growing, and findsherself comfortable in period roles, though she has not much to do hereother than to banter with Gyllenhaal, and be that obligatory loveinterest in the sea of men.
Prince of Persia may be Jerry Bruckheimer's hope of a franchise to bespawned, emulating the success of The Pirates of the Caribbean, butfrankly requires a lot more stars and a solid story to begin with. Thenagain, hey it's a summer popcorn movie, so cut it some slack you mayadd. Sure, if you park your brains at the door and approach this withlow expectations, you may just enjoy the roller coaster ride from startto finish, but it's no crime to ask for a little bit more.

It is a good movie, you should watch and give it a chance for a sequel!

Prince of Persia is based on a game, this doesn't mean it should get atag 'bad movie' straight away. I saw the movie and i liked it.
Why they made the movie? Well the game was very popular and it has areally good storyline. Everyone who played the game will like it. Eventhough they could've made it better it is still a good movie. And aswith the game I think the second movie (if they make another movie, which I think they should)will be much better.
The movie is worth watching if you like the genre, but if you go to thetheatre with too big expectations you probably will be disappointed, itis not avatar after all.

    Couldn't be better!

I've been waiting for this film since they announced that the game"Prince of Persia" would turn into a big screen movie. No cast memberswere announced, only rumors of who could get the role as "Dastan". WhenJake Gyllenhaal was introduced I didn't know what to think or expect, Iam a huge fan of Jake and all of his works and movies, but I couldn'timagine him being the prince in this upcoming movie... and I was sowrong.
The move was perfect! I can't imagine how hard it had to be for thedirector of this movie to make a whole movie from a plot from a gamewhere the only thing you do is almost.. climb, jump.. and kill! But hemade this plot to a whole other experience! focusing on bringing outthe best from the Prince of Persia series and this all made this movieabsolutely one of the best game-to-film movies ever made. and theactors were incredible! their acting made that you forgot their realnames and thought they really were these characters they portrayed..something a actor/actress should be able to do to be called anactor/actress. Alfred Molina did an excellent job putting the audienceinto laughing and Gemma Arterton shocked the audience with her amazingbeauty.. and talking about Jake.. well he had it all! :D
The movie, actors, plot, twists, visuals, surroundings, sound, music...everything! It was all perfect! So what are you waiting for? Get youra** to the cinema and watch this hell-of-a-movie! :D

First of all i'd like to tell you guys that this is my first reviewhere.I got to the theaters with low expectations because the lastadventure blockbusters all sucked.Anyway the movie really surprisedme. It had a good plot,i really liked the cast, the effects were amazingand the fight scenes(which were many) were really enjoyable. The wholeteam of pirates of the caribbean with the director Mike Newell made agreat movie with fresh characters, actors and starts a very promisingmovie franchise.I think it is 100 times better than jokes like Clash ofTitans,Percy Jackson and other similar movies to these...Finally thismovie is a must see for everybody this summer.

There's only one word for it - "Fun"

The problem with us, as viewers and critics of cinema, is that wedemand too much. We want too much, we ask for too much and(ridiculously enough) we demand that we be disturbed by what we view ata fundamental level. The demand for meaningful, noir movies with darkthemes has been so great since The Dark Knight that I've grown sick andtired of people whining and nitpicking tiny little threads in thetapestry that forms a movie.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I don't demand much from amovie. There's three things I do ask for though, and justifiably so -solid acting, splendid direction (within which I includecinematography, editing, screenplay and other things to do with guidingthe actors and the scenario to make a visually striking scene) and anice story. I definitely don't go to movies like Prince of Persiaexpecting a dark, brooding tale filled with passion and gore. The games- at least the ones that I've played - have come close to takingthemselves WAY too seriously, but the fact is that they're just loadsof fun.
The thing about video games is that we'll always like them better thanthe movies. It's the human brain - we're conditioned (via video games)to think that WE are in charge. WE control the fate of the maincharacter. WE control his parkour moves. WE control whether he merelyflees a fight or engages with the enemy in a brutal hack-and-slashfight. And that's definitely not going to happen in a movie. What we'rewatching is the vision of another human being - how he/she would playthe game. How he/she would watch the story unfold.
Ultimately, I just don't remember having this much FUN watching amovie. It reminded me of times past when we merely used to enjoy amovie instead of demanding it provoke us to feel, sometimes at greatexpense to the senses a la Hostel. Don't get me wrong. The Prince ofPersia does have feeling - it's got solid chemistry between the leadsand brilliant acting. (SPOILER: For instance, the scene when GemmaArterton lets go of Jake Gyllenhal's hand while hanging off a cliff. She doesn't do it with calm serenity or with a smiling face. Shescreamed, she pleaded and showed a very human vulnerability that iscompletely atypical of a Hollywood blockbuster). The Prince of Persiaalso has its fair share of beautiful CGI (yes, I actually love thisfascinating new technology) and fan-tribute scenes that hark back tothe games. Yet, it holds its own ground in terms of storyline and thedirection that the story takes. It explains how Dastaan (JakeGyllenhal) came to be, and how he chances upon the strange dagger thatseems to have some elusive mystic power which in turn alludes to a muchmore powerful and devastating secret. The scenes in Persia arefantastic and the city the Persians invade (Alamut) looks invitingenough.
However, the film does have its fair share of flaws. The dialogue coulddo with a lot of work and the film does try to cram everything into thescript - from ostrich races to snake attacks in the desert to anassassin's creed style chase. However, the film does have its highpoints too - the fight between the Sudanese knife thrower and theHassansin blade-thrower was sheer awesomeness. The camera angles do geta bit frustrating during the parkour scenes, but the parkour doesjustice to the game so it's all fair.
Either way, Prince of Persia is a fun, fun ride... especially on IMAX.You just have to open your mind and it'll remind you of a long-gone erawhere fairy tales were just like their namesake - feel-good storieswith happy endings that made you wish you were a part of their worldrather than the one you live in. Also, Disney might be a taddisappointed if they want this to be the Pirates replacementfranchise... mainly because it lacks the main spark that made Piratestick - an overtly eccentric and humorous character, called JackSparrow. While the tax-hating merchant seemed like a cue in to be somesort of Jack Sparrow replacement, his cheesy dialogue completely tookthe humour out of his short appearance.
PS: As far as the discrimination against Persians is concerned, I'd saythe depiction of Persians was fair - they are shown as a civilisedempire that while resting on the glory of its conquests, also knows howto show mercy. Again, if you can't get past the obviously Caucasiancast, well... bully for you.

    Underrated on Most Accounts

I just came back from the midnight showing of this and I have to saythat one thing these reviews did do for me is help me enjoy the movie alot more. I went in preparing to have dung hurled at me for the lengthof the film, when in actuality, I came out of the theater with the samefeeling that I had when I left Pirates of the Caribbean. Now, by this Idon't mean that it is like Pirates of the Caribbean, but it achievesits goal through different means, strumming different chords with theaudience.
The acting was a bit clich?d in parts, the dialogue iffy in others, butall in all, it was a believable film that made me forget I was in atheater, which is the goal of films altogether: to suck you so far intothe story that you aren't thinking about anything else.
As a side note, I found this also to be a more romantic story than thatof POTC and I found the protagonist to be much less annoying than WillTurner (who I believe was poorly acted by Orlando Bloom).
But really, don't just read reviews and decide if you want to see it.It is definitely worth your money, if anything for the entertainmentvalue. See it for yourself and don't take the brain-work of critics, for we all know that bad criticism could mean it is either really goodor really bad. And it seems like everyone is a critic these days.
A solid 7.5 from me, but a 1- on the review's scale just to help bumpit up.
