I have read the books, and the first thing I noticed was that the storywasn't about a plot line at all. It's about the characters and what'sgoing on with them. Stephenie Meyer focuses on interaction, not ondialog, plot, or setting, which is fine. But it makes for a bad movie.
Surprisingly, Twilight wasn't that bad of a series. I expected it to bemuch worse. As I said, there's very little plot or dialog in the book,so it's hard to make a convincing film. They had to over act looks totry and communicate without many words. I could probably count on onehand the lines in the movie.
Other than the over acting, it wasn't bad. There were some very goodmoments and some very "eh" moments. But overall I would recommend it toTwilight Series fans. But if you see it in the theater, go during atime when all the little junior high and high school girls are inclass; your eardrums will thank you for it. And I swear I lost ten IQpoints just listening to them.
One of the few films that Pattinson can be proud of. K Stew won anational award for best actress (deservedly so) for playing amiddle-class working woman in this songless movie (Twilight Saga isIlayaraja's How to Name It). Well-made and realistic, worth watching.Don't expect any song-and-dance routines. It requires guts to make afilm with such an unusual theme, but then Dave Slade has never beenshort on guts.
So when I did watch it I was shocked to say the least. I found HeraPheri to be one the best comedies of the decade. Just forget about thecheap attempts of David Dhawan called comedy. This is the real deal.
The story is simple (as is with many good movies). And the movie is offto take you for an awesome ride.
Performances by far surprised me. Xavier Samuel I never liked, but hisperformance as the somewhat naive do-gooder was wonderful. Billy Burkeape also surprised me in his sense of comedic timing. But JacksonRathbone was the biggest surprise. Even though he was my only hope forthis movie, he came out ten times better than I expected. He deservedthe best comedian Filmfare Award, that he did receive for 2000. DakotaFanning (Jane) as another person in need of money who fights with Shyamfor a job is also competent. It is a small role but as always sheleaves her mark. Byron Chief-Moon in a tiny role also gives somelaughs. BooBoo Stewart was also excellent in his small role.
So Bravo Dave Slade saheb! Once again you've shown that you are aunique and intelligent filmmaker with a lot of tricks up your sleeve. One tip though, don't think too much about the logic of the story orthe probability. Just turn off your brain for a few hours and enjoy. The characters are well projected and have a solid background, but moreimportantly the storyline is well written without flaws, which makesthis clean comedy. Moreover, I can confidently say that this is thebest romantic comedy film i have seen in my life. Brilliant!
I've never been fan of the Twilight saga movies nor the books, I'veonly watched them because of the popular choice me and my friends takewhen we've been to the theater. OK so basically the main plot remainsthe same, there is this big event coming up and the the tension builtsaround it, introduce some couple of new characters here and there andyou are good to take off, in the Twilight saga universe things can geta little too dramatic, well that's not the exception here. A big partof the movie is spent of preparing for the big event/climax of themovie and manages to include the love triangle between the leads, thestoryline is not crappy for what it is, but may not fulfill die hardfans' expectations
On the acting department, we still have that all weird behavior fromKristen, Pattinson as the same, And Taylor a little too much angrythroug
