    i did not like this

    *spoilers*
the book of Eli is centered around Eli (denzel) as he travels from eastto west in a post apocalyptic wasteland to save a book that "haspowers" and can "heal nations" he has impeccable combat skills andafter getting shot in the stomach point blank range he can still walkand live like a normal human being. but when a man stumbles upon Eliand finds out the book he has he will do anything to retrieve the bookfrom Eli so they track him down and get the book to find out itswritten in braille and Eli has memorized it to recite it to a press inAlcatraz so they can print it and have an paper copy. sounds kind oflike a stupid story then you find out that the book is the bible andthat didn't really sit well with me. Christian or not i just feltuncomfortable with all the Christian subtext in this movie, and trustme its filled with them
i didn't cope with the story that much in the first place i called theplot twist (braille) from a mile away there was NO characterdevelopment at all the ONLY things we know about Eli at all in thisfilm is that he was blind and his name was Eli and, obviously he lovesthe bible. but the fact that this whole movie was centered around thebible and a hokey storyline with characters i didn't really like toomuch, it just made the movie for me i was getting bored near the endbut the bible thing just did it for me i was hoping all throughout themovie that it Wasn't the bible but it was and this movie should bepassed

Based on Islamic predictions and concepts.

The movie is based on Islamic beliefs and on the predictions made inthe Quran about the events leading up to the end of the world and theday of judgement. The concepts taken in the movie are: 1. The word ofAllah (God) will be taken away from the world. This will include theHoly Book Quran being taken away not only physically but also takenaway from the hearts of the people i.e. the people will forget it.
    2. Muslims are the only religious people in the world who learn theirHoly Book the Quran by heart. This is a tradition that has been goingon since the birth of Islam which was adopted for the exact reason thatit wouldn't be forgotten. The book is learned word for word, with exactpronunciation by thousands and thousands of Muslims called 'hafiz - e-Quran who dedicate their lives to this learning. The same concept wasshown in the movie, Eli learns the book by heart.
    3. Islamic prophecy: A major war will be fought between the Jews,Christians and the Muslims. This was also hinted in the movie when Elisays that people believed the war happened because of the book and inanger they burned all the copies.
4.A few other prophecies are also taken from Islamic traditions but theones quoted above are the most prominent and the ones on which themovie is based.
All in all, the movie was an excellent representation of what the worldis going towards. Elis comments about the pre-war world 'people hadmuch more than they needed' still stick in my mind. Without putting intoo much dialogue the writer still makes his story easy to understand.Bravo!

    Eli's Coming, Hide Your ...

Greetings again from the darkness.Yet another in a string ofpost-apocalyptic films showing Hollywood has little hope for ourfuture.
The Hughes Brothers (Menace II Society) deliver a western/samurai taleof a man (Denzel Washington) walking west because voices in his headtold him to. Those voices also told him to protect the book he iscarrying (a King James Bible) and go full out Bruce Lee on anyone whotries to stop him (OK, I made that part up ... but he sure does). Oh,and the man (Eli) has been walking west for THIRTY-ONE years! The realpoint seems to be Gary Oldman's character (Carnegie) controls oneshabby little town, but dreams of real power. The kind of power thatthe book can bring. Ding Ding! Religious power! He wants to be apost-apocalyptic tele-evangelist, sans TV. He just knows he can controlthe masses with the message of the bible. I don't think I am givinganything away here. Good vs Evil. Just like all the great westerns.
The Hughes brothers assemble a nice supporting cast with Mila Kunis,Jennifer Beals (her mom in the film), Tom Waits, Michael Gambon andMalcom McDowell. Kunis has by far the most screen time and the finalshot of her is really the only humor I found in the film ... though, not even sure it was supposed to be funny.
We get a pretty bleak, yet coherent, film for the first 65%. Then itjust turns unbelievable. The Shyamalan twist is downright ridiculousdue to what we have been watching for the previous 90 minutes. And asmuch as it pains me to say, Oldman's character is just too low rent toprovide a real worthy adversary for Eli. So while the film has aninteresting look, it just lacks real guts.

Jan 15, and we have found the worst film of 2010 already!

I expect that most will go to this thinking it is a lighter version of"The Road" (which is a great film), however, this is "post-apocalypseSunday school version", and is only suitable for those who find thebook of Genesis essential reading.
Although it panders to those seeking stylised violence early on,firstly in tasteful sillouette in the underpass, again in the bar, andthen with the "western" shoot-out (our hero is incapable of being hitwhile finding targets for all 50 of his bullets from his handgun), itdegenerates in to boring drivel with only cameos from Frances de laTour and Michael Gambon giving a fleeting moment of comic relief.
Neither Gary Oldman or Malcolm McDowell can have chosen this movie forthe quality of plot and the writing of their parts, and even DenzelWashington must have had a senior moment to think taking, it appears, his private views on to the screen.
Those who want to put out this sort of message are going to have tocome up with something with even the tiniest bit of subtlety to avoidbeing held up to ridicule for producing this candidate for a GoldenRasberry.

Watch it if you like post-apocalypse movies

I am a fan of post-apocalypse games and movies, but I haven't seen thetitle or trailer till today(I think trailer would spoil the joy, though). I've got to this movie accidentally, we just saw a poster andbought tickets at last minute, and haven't regret it.
I must say that the overall atmosphere of deserted post-nuclear worldwas quite realistic. There were not much large scale decorations andgraphics as you can usually see. It was closer to simple human life indetails: all their struggling and fighting for water, the value ofsimple clothes and other general things.
But there are some desert and steppes views too, lone houses, industrial ruins - all that looks pretty nice, especially with help ofpale colors. I liked camera works too, especially on dynamic scenes. There were some fresh ideas without excess in graphics. There is nomuch camera "shaking" effects that you can see these days - that iswhat I personally liked. Denzel in the role of some kind of tired heroagain, fighting for his idea. His performance was pretty well asalways. But I would not say that this is his best role, comparing tothe previous movies.
The plot is stuffed with holes. I will not say much to spoil it, butoverall idea feels pretty weak, and at some points it just doesn't makesense. There are some funny moments too. Generally, I don't think Iwill want to see this movie again.
    I'll give it 6 of 10.

    Not that good

This movie had potential and could have been a really good movie, butdue to some Hollywood writers, it was stupid in a lot of ways. The veryend of the movie, people in the audience started to laugh, if you seeit you will understand. Also, when you find out a very important partof the movie, at the end, something about Eli, it really shows thewriters trying to hard to make this movie different. Sorry writers, itjust made the movie that much more stupid. I believe if Denzel wouldhave had more impute, I'm sure it would have been better. He usuallydoes very good movies.
All and all, it was entertaining, with the action. DVD movie for sure.

    It's okay...nothing special

This movie is set in a post apocalyptic world, but there is not anyreal back story as to why the world in the movie is in the state thatit is in. Briefly there is mention that a hole is torn in theatmosphere and fire scorches the earth...as a result of some war orsomething...the rest is left to the imagination.
Denzel's character is supposedly on a mission from God, based on hisfaith, to deliver a book to some destination in the west. The book thatis so important is the bible and supposedly it's the only one that hassurvived in all of the world. Gary Oldman's character wants to takethis book from him to use it as a weapon to enslave the "weak minds ofthe people" and get them to follow him without question. I'm not surehow in this post apocalyptic world it is a certainty that all themillions of bibles in the world are gone and this is the only one, butthat's the main plot of the movie.
There's a couple knife fights and a couple gun fights...but the actionduring a couple of these moments are so improbable that you sort ofassume that Denzel's character is some sort of SuperHuman for a goodpart of the movie. Turns out he's not.
Anyway, Long story short...the bad guy takes what he thinks is thebible, and it is...but it's written in braille and the only person whocan translate it for him is the blind lady he abuses...and it's alreadytoo late because his "empire" is crumbling. Denzel gets to hisdestination and there is a major movement underway in the west to gethumanity back on it's feet again. They even started a printing pressand are collecting all the major works and teaching people to readagain. Just so happens that the bible is not one of the books that theyhave collected yet.
And it turns out Denzel didn't need the book anyway...he had itmemorized in his head. This is pretty much the end of the movie but forsome reason it seems like it drags on for another 10 unnecessaryminutes as "Eli" quotes bible verses...very boring, it's safe to walkout of the movie at this point. And then the very end is extremelycorny, as his tag along hot chick takes his big knife and gets set forher own mission, back home, alone across the wastelands.
Overall I'd say this movie is about as average as it gets. In myopinion it's not worth full price at the movies. I'd recommend waitingfor DVD or Cable. It's definitely not a must see movie.

    Engrossing and Moving

This is a story about a man's unshakable faith in the Holy Bible, hisbelief that it is the only hope to rebuild a decent society in apost-apocalyptic world, and the fulfillment of his thirty-year journeyto take the only copy of the Bible to the west coast.
The cast is uniformly brilliant, the story is entirely engrossing, andthe look of the film is striking. It's lensed as through we're seeingthrough the damaged retinas and partial cataracts of thesurvivors—everything's contrasty, bleached of color, and diffuse.
It's a terrific movie, but about half the reviews are sour, evenhostile. I have to conclude that those who put their faith in man'srationality (despite a mountain of grisly evidence to the contrary) areput off by the spiritual theme. Too bad. If this country doesn't getits spiritual fiber cleaned and pressed soon, this hellish world willbe our destination.
See it. It'll give you hope.

Denzel Washington stars as Post-Apocalyptic Prophet delivering message and taking names.

Just thought it was a breath fresh air from a lot of the Liberal Agendathat's being thrown around these days. Now do not get me wrong, I loveme my lefties, but I really enjoyed this pseudo-spiritual film. Ittruly re-affirmed and made me appreciate the Bible as the Word of Godand how to take my reading of it as a gift to be cherished. Even if youdon't believe in the Abrahmaic faiths, one would still be encouraged towatch this movie for the ending twist and the beautiful green-greyskied cinematography. Also Mila Kunis does a spot on job portraying angirl ignorant of the Pre-WWIII era and someone who is hungry for pureTruth and knowledge. This film is a true untainted warrior.

Book of Eli not what I expected

Not even Denzel Washington can save this movie despite his acting. Thetrailers make it seem like the movie is going to be an action movie andthat the book is very important, not that this particular book is notimportant but I guess I thought it was going to be something else. There are a couple of action scenes which are very well done but theyare few and not well spread out throughout the movie and one starts tofeel like they were deceived by the trailer. The book of Eli is nothingmore than the Bible. I do understand that the Bible is one of the mostimportant books but to make such a big deal out of this particularreligious book to the point of killing to protect it is ridiculoussince I'm sure the Bible mentions or is at least against killing. Thepremise of the movie about the importance of the Bible is notunwarranted but I'm sure that to others, other books are equally ormaybe even more important that this book. The whole movie pretty muchcenters around protecting it and you get to hear Mr. Denzel recitingfrom it oh and a few action scenes. If I wanted to know about theBible, I would have opened the actual Bible instead of going to see amovie that centers around it. There's a particular scene that made melaugh because they did such a bad job with the special effects if thatis what it can be called. The scene is when they are rowing to theisland because you can clearly tell that they are just rowing in frontof either a screen that shows an ocean or a green screen but it isobvious to the naked eye. I would have expected this a few years agobut to see this now is laughable. Give it a 6/10 and I think I waskind. If you are thinking about watching this movie for its actionsequences, don't go since there is little to none. If you are thinkingabout a post-apocalyptic movie, please see The Road instead which is amuch better movie. Now, if you want to hear Mr. Washington recitingfrom the Bible then this is your movie but I think you would be betteroff just reading the Book yourself. Once again, beware the trailerbecause it seems to advertise it as an action movie when it is not.

The Best film of the year. Funny, I have only seen one movie this year.

The Hughes Brothers return with their newest film. They have only donethree. Their last film, From hell, was made nearly ten years ago. Nowthey return with The Book of Eli, and trust me, it was worth the wait.
This is a very creative film. It has so much going on, so manyspectacular action sequences, some laughs, some good performances, andby the end of the movie, there is a good message. For some reason I wasnot expecting the film to be Biblical, but in the end I was actuallyquite pleased that it was.
The film takes place in the future in an apocalypse type period.Carnagie(played by Gary Oldman)runs a town and has had people searchfor a book that he can not find anywhere. That book is The Bible.People believe that the Bible was what started their apocalypse so theywere forced to burn every one. Carnagie is looking for it so then hecan have control over mankind.
They have such a hard time finding The Bible. Until a stranger namedEli(played by Denzel Washington) stumbles into the bar that he runs andchops up everybody. Carnagie believes that he holds The bible. So hetries to convince Eli to stay at the bar.
Carnagie sends his somewhat lover's daughter(played by the hot MilaKunis)to try and see if he has the book. Well, of course he does. Andeventually, Eli goes to extreme lengths to protect The Bible.Eventually, Eli and Mila Kunis' character go on the run from Carnagie.
The Book of Eli has some laughs. But it focuses on plot a bit more thananything. There is a good twist at the end of the movie. The Hughesbrothers have returned with a bang. Literally, cause there are a lot ofawesome action sequences. It's a lot of fun to watch Denzel Washingtonof all people slice off heads. This is a very entertaining film. The2010 film season is off to a great start. I hope it continues.

Book Of Eli: Make the best of it and you will get just that

I was not excited about seeing this movie. I predicted there would beviolence and I was right. I predicted overcast skies with plenty ofgloom and doom. I was right again. I underestimated the impact of theunforeseen.
Washington played the part well. A lone man walking the road straightand narrow with a destination he had only been told of. He focused onhis destiny doing good deeds. He hesitated where others seemed to havetheir own destiny at hand. All the time, being the loner who appearedto be dark and moody if not mistakenly dangerous and bloodthirsty, hestayed the path. He protected his own, whatever that was. Whatever"that" was is what the story becomes about. And what the story becomes,is what saved the movie in my eyes.
The cloudy skies and dirty earth made the movie as gloomy as could be.The people made the planet a dirty unwanted place. Only hope could saveit. Where I had about given up was when it all seems so repeatedlydepressing. Despite much appreciated acting on all counts, thecontinued darkness and fighting became distasteful and not artfully so.However, after the halfway point, the message made its appearance. Themessage, the word, had made it clear to me what the characters had beenmissing and needed. There definitely is a message for those who gettired of the violence and bloodshed. Look for it.
The final couple minutes made me wonder why Michelle Rodriguez didn'tget cast in a part that could've clearly been hers - Solara. Maybe thesequel(if there is one) will change things.
Anyway, don't lose hope, give it a chance, and appreciate the whys andwherefores.
I hesitated and ended up giving it a 7 for all the pain I had to sufferto finally get to the best part. I decided against an 8.

Great movie with lots of action and a cohesive plot line.

I was immediately drawn into the movie through the filming andrealistic detail that was applied. There were never any parts that tookme out of the movie so to speak I also enjoyed the biblical referencesand the deference given to them.
There was such realism given to the fact that the Bible has such power. There will be lots of memories because of this movie. It is easy to seehow much we take for granted.

exciting, captivating performances for most of the way...

The Hughes brothers, Allan and Albert, return after a nine-year hiatusfrom feature directing with this violent post-apocalypse western, akind of unofficial brother or cousin to last year's The Road, with alot of skill and a visual palette that works really well. And it's agot Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman starring as the hero and villainrespectively, which is really hard to screw up as practically anybodywho loves movies loves what they can do in the right material. And forfans of samurai movies (yes, samurai and/or ninja or ronin) andwesterns it provides the goods by having a character fight with a bigdamn machete blade (trained in the movie by Bruce Lee's mentor by theway), and its dusty veneer and ragged clothes bring back memories ofthe Mad Max era of movies. There's even potential with its premiseabout a man, Eli (Washington), going west to some place he doesn't knowas a voice has told him to hold on to a very crucial book, the "good"book as it were, at all costs, which includes Oldman's power-hungryking of a small town getting a hold of it as a 'weapon' to controlpeople. Duh.
And the Hughes deliver just fine in this first half of the movie. Maybeeven longer than that, going up to scenes where Eli and Oldman'scharacter's daughter, Solara (very good if too nicely dressed MilaKunis), wander onto a nice old cannibal couple's farm. They transformthis story of a man's quest into something exciting and, possibly, unpredictable to an extent - that is the extent of which Eli will killanyone in his way to protect the book. Even just on a base levelwatching the action scenes here is very worthwhile as just puresuper-bloody fight scenes and, later, a gunning down of a house. I evenbought in to Eli's quest, albeit on a level that he was really hearingvoices, as opposed to 'God Told Me To" kind of deal. It's shot withlots of care and fun, and it features a who's who of cool castingchoices in supporting roles, from Tom Waits (reunion of Dracula withOldman!), Jennifer Beales, Ray Stevenson, and Michael Gambon.
Where the film runs into trouble, big trouble, is later in the film, aswe see things start to reach a (mostly) happy conclusion. This canreally only be talked about in spoilers, so warning given: at a certainpoint, Eli gets shot, though is able somehow to make it a little morewest with Solara to Alcatraz prison (fine so far), wherein he find aprinting press that is looking for the bible. The first part of thetwist is expected, since Eli had to give up the bible in a previousscene, and it being in braille is kind of clever. But then the nextpart of the twist- that Eli has been blind for what we're meant tobelieve is the ENTIRE FILM- is just ridiculous. Perhaps the Hughesbrothers and the writer felt that it wasn't enough that Eli was asamurai on a quest by some voices in his head, but that it had to beeven more of a religious statement (either that or the black Zatoichi),but it hammers it home in a way that makes one have to look back oneverything that happened in the film. It's an M. Night Shyamalan turnof the plot that is just completely unnecessary and, in fact, insultingto the audience.
But, to focus on the positive, The Book of Eli is a film of some merit. It's got a point of view that it sticks to, which is that words havepower in a world where people can't read and thoughts and the past andthings can be controlled, or just sustained (albeit one has to take aleap of faith, no pun intended, that all the bibles in the world havebeen destroyed except for this one). It's first two-thirds aren'tperfect, but it makes for a fun, interesting viewing. And then it takesits sharp turn that it can never recover from. Luckily by that pointthe movie just about ends, though not without some ponderous closingnarration from a dying Eli. Good Lord.

Pat Robertson's name removed from credits just prior to distribution

Hollywood is know for it's strange and unlikely collaborations, butwhen fire and brimstone conservative Pat Robertson agreed to remake the1981 post-apocalyptic classic, The Road Warrior, with auteur B-movie asart form director Quentin Tarantino, even insiders weresurprised........ in the not too distant future, in a United States ofAmerica reduced to a mere scattering of human savages across it'spost-nuclear landscape, one man (Denzel Washington) walks west, inpossession of the last remaining Bible (albeit a King Jamesversion).... as though by fate meets the last remaining hottie (MilaKunis) who (although not revealed in the movie) has discovered a cacheof designer denim that has survived both nuclear attack and the test oftime.....

This movie is more or less a straight rip of Roger Zelanzy's excellentbook Damnation alley. The main character has to go from point 1 topoint 3 with a valuable package. Various individuals will stand in hisway but in the end .... well you know the clich?..
Given the above I was looking forward to this movie. It made it all thedisappointing when I saw this one. It was so clich?d but slightly moreup beat than the dour Road. In the future world is doom and gloom a bitlike the first Gears of War.
Its also very slow, if you want to see a dour post apocalyptic moviewatch The Road

The Book is the only hope for humanity

(Synopsis) Eli (Denzel Washington) has been on a journey for 30 years, walking west across America after a cataclysmic war that turned theearth into a total wasteland. The world has become a lawlesscivilization where people must kill or be killed. The barren roadsbelong to gangs of cutthroats who rob and kill for water, a pair ofshoes, a lighter, or just for fun. Eli is a peaceful man who only actsin self defense, and becomes a warrior with unbelievable killing skillswhen he is challenged. After the war and the "Big Flash", Eli wasguided by a higher power to a hidden book and given the task ofprotecting the book and taking it to its final destination. Eli guardsthe book with his life, because he knows that the book is the only hopethat humanity has for its future.
(My Comment) The movie starts off with Eli walking down a road when heconfronts a gang of thieves wanting what he has, and of course, he mustprotect himself and the book. We see that he has some ninja killingskills that have carried him all these years. Anarchy now rules withmurder and rape as routine events. Eli walks into a small town where heencounters Carnegie (Gary Oldman), the boss of a gang of thieves andgunmen. Carnegie wants the book and Eli doesn't want to give it up andthe battle begins. The movie has the theme of good against evil, and weknow that Eli is the good guy and someone you can root for. I thinkDenzel did a very good job of getting the audience involved and on hisside, because when he prevailed against the bad guys, some of theaudience yelled and clapped. Gary Oldman and his henchmen were verygood bad guys and deserved what that got. You may think from thetrailers that this is an action-packed movie from beginning to end, which is only partially true. But there is enough action to keep yourattention. There is a twist at the end that you will not see coming.Overall, it was a good movie, but don't take the plot too seriously.(Warner Bros., Run Time 1:58, Rated R)(7/10)

    STOP! Please?

Let me start off by saying that i wanted to like this movie. I likepost apocalyptic movies. I like the idea of a desolate wasteland fullof raiders. I even liked the premise of this post apocalypse movie, manall alone on a mission from god and no one is going to stop him. Thebeginning of this movie was awesome. We get a great sense of Eli andthe land he is living in. Eli is a lone wolf in this huge desolateworld. He doesn't need anybody else, and he doesn't want anybody else. The only thing he wants is to get "the book" to the west.
As Eli is making his journey, we see the how crude this world hasbecome. Raiders litter the place setting up around every corner waitingto take advantage of the weak. But Eli by no means is weak. The actionscenes in this movie were very well done. Eli is an absolute 100percent bad ass, and the movie does a good job showing this. The onlycriticizing thing I'll say about the action scenes, the camera does notneed to be going around a loop to watch Eli kick ass, it's a littleannoying.
As Eli continues his trip to the west, he walks through a small town, owned by Carnegie. Carnegie, as we find out, has employed many of theraiders to go around looking for "the book". None of the raiders haveany idea what book he is talking about, probably has something to dowith the fact that not one of the raiders can even read, and just goaround pillaging and taking all the books they can find. Eli walks intoCarnegie's bar and asks for a bottle of water, while the guy across thestreet fixes something very important for him. We see Mila Kunis(notice i did not use her characters name) go fetch the bottle ofwater. While she is doing that, a raider picks a fight with the bad assknown as Eli. Another great fight scene, followed by the most importantline in the film. MILA KUNIS: STOP! please?
(NOTE: SORRY TO MILA KUNIS FANS)
Cue line to stop movie. Mila Kunis's character is just stupid, and tobe honest, if you just left her out of the film, or at least in thespring, this film gets better. Her character felt like a joke. Shecreates her own plot hole by being this dumb. When Carnegie asks if shehad talked to Eli in a later scene, she says no, and follows this lineby asking for her mom's hands and starts a prayer. The plot hole? Shehas been living with Carnegie almost her entire life and has not oncedone a prayer! Why would she start now! Or after lying to the boss man,START PRAYING! IT'S SO STUPID!
Now, if you can get past Mila Kunis, which i could not, you would ofprobably enjoyed this film. "The book" has a great deeper meaning. Ithas the power to save, and destroy. I really like the reason Carnegiewanted "the book", so he can control everybody like his servants andclaimed it was a weapon, it shows you the true power of religion. WhenEli talks about what the older generations thought about "the book" isan even more powerful scene, if you ask me. He is referring to thisgeneration, and we all have our say on "the book."
So by the end of the movie, i really have it on the teeter. it's notbad, but it's not that great. Not bad because of the interesting story, good acting by both Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman, Good directingby the Hughes Brothers, i really felt involved with the story. Notgreat because of Mila Kunis, yeah no other reason. Then came the end. Idon't want to ruin it, but when you see it, COME ON. HE WAS SO NOT!

...but don't listen to me, just watch it for yourself

This movie had a great message of perseverance and faith. It could'vebeen longer but it's better for it to feel too short than for it to beway too long (Avatar). It was also very refreshing to watch a majorfilm that doesn't have the same old story of hopelessness andmeaninglessness that the typical "end of the world" Hollywoodproduction is built around. The fight sequences reminded me of"Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman", which definitely has the best swordfighting of any movie. If I had one word to describe this movie I wouldsay it's: hope. Hope that there is a real meaning to life.
The end might be a little unbelievable, the girl making the journey byherself to go save her mother, but I think most girls would do the samefor their mother. Some people might point out technical things thatdidn't make sense, like where did his arrows go, but it's a movie, whocares maybe it folds up and fits in his bag. Or where is his ammo, whocares, maybe it's hidden somewhere in his coat.

    Wow. Just, Wow.

So, this isn't the kind of movie you "love". Watching it isn't anenjoyable experience, but that's the point. The use of color (or lackof color) and lighting is powerful. The harsh climate of the future isthe perfect background for the story that needs to be told. The cameraangles had me cringing and turning away from the screen, but peekingback to avoid missing anything. The sound (or lack of sound) and theslowing of time in crucial moments was compelling. This was amasterfully made movie. Loved the ending, Mila was great, Denzel wassuperb.
    It moves you. MUST SEE!
