A testament to the badness of war

This film brings deserved attention to the plight of one of the mosthistorically under-privileged and persecuted groups: The Freemasons."Brother's War," as an expose of secret societies, has been describedby the New York Times as approaching the social significance of DanBrown's proud tomes.
Tino Struckmann's revolutionary portrayal of Capt. Klaus Mueller, aGerman, as a gravel-voiced American stereotype suggests many shockingparallels between Nazi Germany and the society of now.
To further emphasize the parallels of "Brother's War" to the society ofnow, the filmmakers intentionally included a number of shots with aprotruding boom, and an extended scene in which an iPhone is clearlyvisible.

    Historical Inaccuracy??????

You are all raving about historical inaccuracy and a tank called apanzer. Panzer is the German word for tank. So then you need to commentabout there being no language change except instances such as thiswhich make it confusing. If you know anything about history then youshould realize that it seems rather pretentious of you to say thatevery German soldier was using a German weapon. You should think thatif if is indeed a PPSH (it is) that he picked it up for increased firepower. After all he is an officer and has such luxuries. But it couldalso by a Bergman MP-18 but well say no because the of the barrel bemore square.

Brothers War was an exceptionally well made film given the budget and logistical problems

the Producers brought forth by some very capable people to bring tolife a larger then life story of the debt of mankind and horrors of thewar on the Eastern front, also with the added masonic twist strewntherein, it have obtained some very good reviews so far. the producershave my respect. it is very hard nearly impossibly to pull of a WorldWar film on a low budget but they did it anyway. naturally it lacks tothe Band of Brothers budget. but we truly believe our story tells thetruth as it happened at those days. it is well made and the story lineflows through out the movie. we can only hope the audience will enjoyand learn from it

    Great movie.

The movie with its raw aggression. This was True events if you don'tthink this was true and it was a propaganda movie good life to you. This movie had more action then other movies these days i remembergoing to see Valkyrie i went through the whole movie very disappointedonly a few moments that were actually good in that movie OK time to getback to Brothers war. If you like action/ww2 then you will love thismovie. This is a true story about the German struggle to hold the lastline (the Russians had to go around them to get to Berlin) not aspoiler. This event happened in real life they just adjusted thecharacters a little bit because of course not every movie is exact tothe history of it.

the hills have eyes meets last days of ww2

Overall I have to agree that as a movie with so much entertainment andpotential greatness suggested by the cover this was a let down ofsorts.
The production reminded me more of a docudrama informative but thateven failed to make me believe any potential revelations being told.
I feel that the main nut of the story (BROTHERS) was the telling of adeeper linking of minds of the Brotherhood in the middle of a terriblewar. Moments of this were shown but so little it might well have beenmissed.
Too many interesting tit bits got bogged down in this telling whichmight have been better suited to being 'televised' as a mini serieswith each piece of this story being given its own airing.
We saw examples of the baser sides of the German and Russian militarymachine but at the end we see how the US soldier is obedient when ourfleeing heroes are caught in a crossfire situation which would surelyhave resulted in their accidental 'execution'
If anything we are invited to believe in the sheer doggedness of theseverely wounded LOYAL Russian but EVIL Colonel on the trail of apotentially very sensitive leak which could affect the post warsettlements.
The nit picking. Panzer is Tank so really if we were using English asour base language the dialogue would have used the word TANK notPanzer. Both are generic names. Think 'Panzergrenadier' as this is asupporting infantryman of an armoured unit. I don't think we have anequivalent job description as such in the US or GB.
Usage of each others weapons. Tommy guns were a popular pick up item. The German Mauser or browning pistol also prized. Battle reenactmentpossible only by the use of lovingly restored vehicles and beggars cantbe choosers.
I don't see how the music grabbed anyones attention as it was at timestoo much and too loud and pointless reminding me of those afternoonregurgitated American drama series with mostly only upper body camerawork and long dialogues telling our story with so very little action ofany kind including facial movements.
This story also mentioned the word brother quite often before themeeting of the two masons.
If there was a story of some truths here I am sure it was written in adifferent way so the fault would lie with the translation to screen.
Yes stereotypical villains to point of almost comedy, and the on offuse of accents to suggest language (I wasn't annoyed by the Britishaccent it took Hugh Daly 38 years to cultivate this and he still spendstime in the UK to keep up to date with the lingo).
The last laugh was at the end when our German survivor managed to havean interview with did no one notice ?? Bernard Law ---------- fill inthe last name and good o'l Ike themselves. Oh the artistic license. This is who our dying Brit Parachutist Major wanted his vitalinformation to passed on to.
The activities of the Russian are being brought to light all the timeand are uncomfortable facts which are not appreciated. Churchill wasalways somewhat dubious about the attitudes of this nations leaders butwas kept out of some talks by the Roosevelt Stalin team).
I suppose I could have watched the UK offering of the X Factor.
It was however badly directed and told.

Don't waste your time. I gave this movie some rope and it hung itself.

Unfortunately the film starts well, well at least for the openingsequence. The acting is blah if even that. I'm actually a rather easilyentertained movie goer and this was just too tough. I made it throughthe film for some unknown reason, perhaps I'm a bit of a sadist. Theconcept is good whereas this film is based on some tidbit of truth thatthe Russians have a secret that they don't want the Americans to findout about. The props and locations are good but the acting and lack ofcontinuity in the plot makes this film worth passing by. I wasespecially irritated by the fact that everyone speaks English (theGermans and Russians) and the acknowledgment that "you speak goodEnglish," is all that let you know there was a language change. Iramble and that's a minor note but this movie was bad. Maybe they blewthe budget on the props and tanks so they couldn't buy a good script oractors. I mean I just watched "I am Bruce" of Evil Dead fame and thatwas a bad movie but it kept me entertained. I wish I could sayotherwise but you've been warned.

    Proceed With Caution

An amazing story that is essential to any World War II buff or evenhistory buff. However, from the point of view of a film buff or anyavid movie fan, this was a below standard piece of work, or at best agood student film. The actors themselves turned in a decent days work, however the people producing this movie fell short. The constant use ofthe "fade to black" transition robs the movie of momentum andconstantly leaves the viewer wandering if the movie has come to anabrupt end, or whether or not the movie is about to pursue a parallelstory line, but typically it continues in the same direction. The moviealso contains some unexplained inaccuracies. Early on in the film theGermans are engaged in battle with the Russians, and a few of theGerman troops are shown using Russian Firearms (specifically thePPSh-41). The viewer can assume that maybe the Germans picked up theseweapons off the battle field and proceeded to use it. I assumed thismyself until one of the m
