- Will, an escaped convict, inadvertently takes refuge in a barn the same night the owners, April and Martin, get into a terrible fight. A gun shot goes off inside the house. April drags Martin's body outside and discovers Will. He convinces her that he is not there to harm her but has witnessed the murder so they must cooperate or both go to prison. The two take out to dispose of the body only to find out he is not dead. The task of disposal turns into a kidnapping nightmare and, as the two try to navigate the turn of events, they find they must make some hard choices to keep from losing it all.

A very cool movie
A very cool movie - with an ending that fit right in.
Now, this is of course based on simple minded cops who don't carry onto actually follow through with a real investigation.
Alan wrote a movie which had an ending fir for anybody who doesn't haveto do any real police type sleuthing or investigative work and it alltied in perfectly.
Now, if they were real cops and had to do a real crime sceneinvestigation, the story simply wouldn't exist.
That aside, for a small budget movie and some fine entertainment, thisis a movie which certainly can fit the bill.
Just the right amount of dark humor and stupidity to get a good comedymix.

Great, classic comedy
I'm not entirely sure why this movie has a less than stellar rating. Iwatched it on Netflix and honestly was not expecting much, but wound upbeing very pleasantly surprised.
The opening of the movie has such great physical comedy, I was laughingout loud. It was a really refreshing change from all the sex and fartjokes most movies have (which can totally be funny, but let's face it,are way over done and over-relied upon at this point). I grew upwatching (re-runs of) I Love Lucy, so I'm a big fan of physical comedy,which just isn't used as often anymore, particularly with femalecharacters for some reason.
What I really loved about this film was that while it was completelylaugh out loud funny, it actually made me care about the characters.Most straight-up comedies (non rom-coms) don't do that. But at the sametime, it wasn't so over the top that it felt like it was changinggenres or anything. I just actually cared what happened to them, whileof course laughing at their ridiculous predicaments.
I've seen a good number of Jaime King's films and, in my humbleopinion, this is one of her best performances, both for the comedy andthe softly stated drama of her character. Usually when I've seen a lotof one actor's films, it takes me out of the world and I just think ofthe character as the actor. That didn't happen here.
While I generally like Josh Cooke, I will say that I'm not entirelysure he was the best choice for his role. He did a good job, butsomething just felt off in believing he was this criminal that could gooff at any moment. And, IMHO, it is necessary to believe that in thisfilm. The plot started to get a little stale towards the end, and Ithink some of it could have been left out, but it moved along quicklyenough that I wasn't bored, and ultimately it didn't detract enoughfrom the film to make an impact on my overall opinion of it.
A Fork in the Road is a great movie to watch if you just want somethingfunny, that isn't plain stupid or a stoner/slacker movie. Worthchecking out!

Decent movie
This movie was decent. Although it had a low budget feel to it, theactors delivered very convincing roles in their characters. At first Icouldn't remember Jaime King's sister, but then I realized I seen herin White Chicks, with Shawn and Marlon Wayans. With all the drama thatcomes with movies, this was a sure delight. In the performances,thecharacter of the escape convict was convincing enough. I also thoughtthe roll of the Sheriff was intense but funny. The detective that waswith him, also down played his character, but they pulled it off. Everyscene had its moment where you wondered what was gonna happen next. Themovie was written and directed very well. I recommend it to those wholike dark comedy with a hint of romance.

I liked it
It's well-written, competently acted, good story, funny, what's not tolike? Incredible scenery too, I don't recall any other movie shot in aplace like that.
I thought I might be in for some low budget amateurish flick as Ididn't recognize any of the cast, but the story kicked off, kept myinterest, made me laugh, and the cast were good. Great productionvalues. The lead girl looks vaguely familiar and I recognized hersister who is, according to the credits, Missi Pyle, although she's notlisted on IMDb as of my post.
So if you like a comedy that's a little on the black side, you can do alot worse than this.
