- While visiting an outlying planet for the Serenity crew to drop off their cattle cargo, Simon and River are kidnapped by local villagers in need of a doctor. But soon the superstitious villagers learn of River's powers of clairvoyance and thinking that she's a witch, decide to burn her and Simon alive at a steak. Flashbacks to River and Simon's childhood show the young Simon trying to please his demanding and stern father, Gabriel, to become a doctor, and then abandoning it when Simon learns that River has being abducted by Alliance Academy agents to study her developing clairvoyant powers. A Poor Man's Mrs Doubtfire
What a visually poetic movie. You will never see anything like TheBounty Hunter. The film is just pure poetry on screen. This IS amasterpiece of film making. The story is actually four stories thatdeal with the the bounty hunter mytique. The director, brings it to thescreen in a fresh new style.
The best stories I think will just blow you a way. From the titlesequence to the end your eyes are glued to the screen because nothingin the film is predictable. Nothing. The color of the cinematographyand the sets are brilliant. A film that should be shown in film schoolsand poetry & literature classes in college. It is almost a religiousexperience.
This movie rocks! Ignore the negative reviews and watch this movie!

Gerard Butler. Point..
No, here I can not be impartial, sorry ... Khem-Khem ... Gerard Butlertaxis! Damn, I love Gerard Butler. Yes, I know what you think: becauseit looked "300" and joined the hordes fan Leonid - "This is Sparta!"And all that. Not-a. Butler just what a good actor is not enough. He iscool in all, judge for yourself: a shooter ("300", "gamer"), romanticcomedies ("The Ugly Truth" and this film), dramas ("Law AbidingCitizen"), scenes at the junction of genres (Rock- n roller ") and evenmusicals (" The Phantom of the Opera "). I do not know why he does inthe movies Roun - he would play in a theater , and Hollywood is toosmall for him. Although, I have even more to say - it could just aseasily go on the radio or pick up a full house monologues as KevinSmith. Or keep a popular show on TV. Not bad for a former lawyer,successful, began filming in 27 years. This is not Efron's Lautner,detachable from the diaper. Heh.
Actually, the talent of Butler that he can his game and the charisma topull even film is average with a weak plot. By the way, if possible,and knowledge of the language it is better to watch without translation- he has a very colorful dialect, knit stout Scottish accent.

Romantic comedies have a standard plot scheme ofthe 3 action (collision M and M foreheads; further interaction andtesting; denouement, where M and M are happy together), wrapped in asituational shell. We are here as a shell purely American phenomenon.Hmm, but in general, many viewers realized that Milo is working in theprivate (!) Office for literally physically catching escaped from underthe mortgage and debtors? Medieval savagery is actually something.Well, in the U.S. is common, referred to this service bail bonds. Butit all again.

Is that humor might be a little more. There was a potential couple ofmoments in this sense, but the writers decided not to twist. Forexample, when Nicole is going to go naked from the bathroom, I wasexpecting such a curiosity as to Sandra Bullock in "Proposal", but thedenouement was ordinary. Another, perhaps, unprofitable compared withother films Butler, "The Naked Truth", where M and F were full-fledgedcharacters, and here Jennifer Aniston in every sense was an assistantaccessory Butler.

All And All, Worth 11 Bucks
I was happy to see my favorite actor, Gerard Butler in a comedy moviesuch as this. It was nice to get away from all action and seeingsomething new. This movie, although presented not much new material itwas still exceptionally good. I was happy to see Gerard interact withJennifer well. Reminds me of SOME parts of Mr. And Mrs. Smith but itsnot a copy. The fact that Gerard's character is so set on returningJennifer's character adds comical entertainment.
Worth the ticket price. I do believe it could have had a few more"funny" jokes but it was still entertaining and that's what makes itstand out. Many films like "Hot Tub Time Machine" and "The Hangover"simply use balls out comedy. That is what makes this a great movieoverall.

BIG FLOP two thumbs way down!!
Was not as funny as it could have or should have been. It was alright,but i am getting so sick of every single movie having some longpointless graphic strip club scene, or big graphic sex scene. it's fineif people want to watch that kind of thing, but i am so sick of itbecoming some type of mainstream thing. if people want to look at itthat's fine, but people should also have equal opportunity to not watchit too. I'm sorry but numerous women wearing pasties and little sliversof cloths over their vagina's dancing around in front of men andswinging on poles two at a time have no business being in a PG movie ifyou ask me. and why the hell does every movie has to have this anyway??men are not the only one's who watch movies!
I AM VERY SORRY I WASTED ANY TIME OR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF CRRRRRAP!

An enjoyable movie
Why is it enjoyable? Cause the plot to this movie is both believableand a funny one too. Unlike some spy coupling of spouses with out ofthis world plot, Bounty Hunter is easy on the brain
What's more, both lead really gel it with charming chemistry which isall more fun to watch. Jen turned up the volume here with her comedicantics, which compliments Gerard's serious but funny character.
Like i have said, the plot is easy to believe and make you enjoy themovie. All the scenes are funny and the flow was perfect. There wasn'tany CGI or blue alien that has invaded many movies at present. Thisone, is pure natural
So I say, a good movie and definitely a winner to me

The Bounty Hunter is one of the most uneven movies I've yet seen this year
Just watched this with my movie theatre working friend. I wasn't veryexcited when I watched the trailer and when the movie proper began, Istill didn't feel much excitement. Then the ex-husband and wife ofJennifer Anniston and Gerald Butler started working together instead ofagainst each other near the end and there seemed to be some promise ofsome excitement with a line here or some action sequence there. But inthe end, this was uneven for the most part for me though I was glad thepace picked up a little toward those final sequences. What I'm tryingto say is, I wasn't completely bored but I didn't find myself reallycaring for what happened to these characters certainly whether they getback together or not. So in summation, The Bounty Hunter is partlyentertaining filler that's only partially a waste of time...

An Attempt at Different Romance Comedy Doesn't Quite Hit Mark
An effort at different, a few more fresh lines, a slightly differentstoryline with a moderate twist, but this romantic comedy can't quitehit the mark for some reason. This predictable, sometimes funny moviehad a few more zany lines and antics that screamed to move this comedyto the top of its class and there was the delivery which seemedcharming, but nevertheless, THE BOUNTY HUNTER never quite lit on fire.Christine Baranski still has screen presence. Jennifer Aniston has adecent performance. Neither Jennifer nor Gerard Butler doesn't quiteget the script to really pull of a solid MR. AND MRS. SMITH (2005)romantic comedy that had both plenty of action as in integral part ofthe movie.

Failed So Hard To Deliver The Expected
This movie failed big time. The story sucked, the acting was decent butthe forced and so washed-up jokes just ruined everything about Butler's"curly-smile" and Jen's "man-chin". The story is pretty muchpredictable and the dialogue sucked. By the way ... WTF was PeterGreene doin' in this movie? ... I know he's like the guy I used to hatein The Mask when I was a lil kid but this was so awkward. The hottestthing about this movie tho was honestly Jennifer Aniston who lookspretty hot considering she's in her 40's.
The editing of the movie was the usual for this kind of films, evenmore the cinematography was average. The music didn't helped the movieeither. It was just a bunch of old and new tunes mixed together alongsome scenes. Just boring. I felt asleep during this movie in my localtheater and I feel bad for that because I had hopes for this to turninto something good but it obviously failed.
Overall it was sad, the funny stuff wasn't there only few jokes youcould count on your one hand's fingers were above mediocre... the restof it was so lame and overused. Full of clich?s, inconsistency and weakdialogue. But Jenn was hot. Pretty much that sums it up, short kind ofreview but... I don't know what to tell more about this ... I hope theother Jen movie this summer will turn better.

very very funny
I thought this movie was very funny. I thought that this movie was oneof the funniest i have seen this year. I loved Jennifer Anniston andGerald Butler in this movie. I loved how they saw each other at a horseracing place i moved the name Milo I want to see it on DVD to laughagain it was worth the time to see it. I like the person that playedJennifer Anniston's mom. I loved Milos brother in the movie I loved thecharacter and how the people where in the movie i loved the golf courseand where people played golf. I love the people and the bed andbreakfast they stayed at. The best funny movie i have seen sincesomething has gotta give and the best hilarious movie too

Target: Comedy? Missed.
I been wishing to see this for about three months after seeing thewildly entertaining and misleading trailer. What you get in the traileris what you see in the movie. It's not much a romantic comedy and moreof a dramatic story telling of two subplots with a main plot of tryingto be a romance story between the two leads.
I'm a huge fan of Gerard Butler and without him in the cast, I wouldgive this trash a 4/10. Jennifer Aniston is nothing to sneeze at andher status of being eye candy is nearly on the edge. Comedy is nearlynon-existent. I chuckled maybe twice. Nearly everything that is funny,is in the trailer.
A majority of the film is an interweaving plot of Peter Greene (who isa dirty cop/tattoo parlor owner trying to confiscate unclaimedevidence) and Milo (Butler) owing money to Irene (a bookie of somesorts) to the sum of $11,000. In all this turmoil, Milo is still tryingto bring Nicole (Aniston) to jail after she fled her court appearanceto negate charges of her assaulting an officer, which is actually adistortion of the truth.
It's not a terribly awful movie, but the trailer makes you think it's aromantic comedy when it's barely passable as a romance movie. It'snothing close to comedic. It fails on almost all it's jokes, exceptwith Milo's interactions with Siobhan Fallon (most well known from MenIn Black).
I didn't think much of the film, and I would recommend anyone lookingforward to seeing it to skip it. I would have much rather see Alice InWonderland again or perhaps the actually funny film She's Out Of MyLeague. This was a big let-down. Skip.

Rated Chick
OK. So you guys might be thinking, "Hell, it's King Leonidas", but nothis is not Sparta and no one gets kicked down a bottomless pit. Notmuch ass gets kicked at all actually. Just because the main characteris a bounty hunter and a few bullets get flung around doesn't make thismovie any more entertaining for us guys. And for a comedy I didn't findmyself laughing very much. The whole premise of the movie is supposedto be novel and funny, but it turns out to be just another shinywrapper holding the same damn piece of candy. "I hate you." "Where didwe go wrong?" "I miss you." "I love you." I wasn't moved. I didn't cry.I didn't laugh. (Actually, maybe twice because of Gary.) So what did Ilike? Gary, the creepy co-worker who's obsessed with Nicole. Dude iscreepy, but funny. I also liked the strip club scene. It's not what youthink. The movie is rated PG-13. Get your mind out of the gutterpeople.
Perhaps the best way to capture the movie is if you think of Mr. & Mrs.Smith, except not as impressive. The fighting isn't as rough, thecomedy isn't as funny, and it wasn't even close to being as good.

It could be better!
I saw the Bounty Hunter the day it came out! I really didn't have highexpectations for this movie so i wasn't disappointed. I have to say theacting was average and the comedy was high. Gerald Butler did anawesome job in this movie and so did Jennifer Aniston. This movie slowin the beginning but it speeds up more into the movie. There is noteven that much romance in it at all until the end when they of courseget married again which is so predictable. They could of made thismovie better if they had less action and more romance. They could alsotook out the scene where Nicole tries to reach for his weapon and Milowakes up and ask if she's trying to seduce him, but it did make themovie funny so I guess the scene can stay in the movie. Overall thismovie is not bad at all but it could be better!

Waste of time!
The only reason this horrible film did not get a rating of R is becausethey did not use the F word. And there are no overt sex scenes. Butevery other element of a morally repugnant film was present. Themajority of characters are thugs (crooked cops, drug dealers, unethicalbail bondsmen, snitches for their own benefit, sleazy reporters, sluttyperformers, hit men, etc.) employing disgusting language nonethelessand the venues bespeak the very dregs of society. The whole thing isoffensive and I'm surprised Anniston agreed to be in it. The onlyinteresting part is the mystery, which is why I stayed till the end,and that was not effectively revealed. All in all, a waste of time andmoney.

An opportunity wasted
I love the occasional romantic comedy thriller and was quite keen tosee this, but the reality was disappointing.
Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler are completely wasted in thisterrible film. Aniston's reporter character drifts about aimlessly,Butler's ex-cop seems like a carbon copy of a cheap B movie from thefifties.
Plunk them down together with a script that meanders about without anyreal sense of tension or direction and you have some inkling right fromthe opening scene that this is not going to go well. A bad script couldbe lifted by clever direction, you would expect the director to have ahand on the tiller to keep the whole thing off the rocks.Unfortunately, it seems as though the director had his mind on otherthings.
The pacing is totally uneven, sequences that advance the story eitherdrag like mad or zip through so fast that you want to hit the rewindbutton. Far too many loose ends and almost no sense of danger at all,which given the main plot line revolves around a murder is ludicrous.
The two stars try, and the slight chemistry between them just aboutkeeps the thing afloat. I struggled to find reasons to give it morethan one star though, it scores two for the ridiculous multi-colouredstriped shirt and shorts that Butler ends up wearing at one point.

Mr. Bounty Hunter Please give me back my 110min...
I was somewhat excited to see this film. I was hoping good things forit- since I love Jennifer and Gerard, but this movie was a huge flop.
First, the overall concept was a a somewhat good one to say the least.It could of gone so many places. But it just was way to predictable,with absolutely no surprises. The blame cannot fall on the actors inthis instance, but on the inadequate script ( which I automaticallyknew was written by a female), director, and production team.
My friends and I are not ones to walk out on films, but this is one wehad absolutely no problem doing it on. I'm just annoyed. annoyed andfrustrated that something with such potential ended up wasting abeautiful Friday night.

Great movie!
I guess critics got used to giving Jennifer Aniston's movies crappyreviews and I must admit that even though I'm a big fan of hers I wasreluctant to watch the movie at first after seeing people's reviews andthe critics' reviews. Critics aside, don't people have eyes?! The movieis extremely good, it is not Oscar-good, it doesn't involve a fatherwho molests his daughter and gets her pregnant like the sick Oscarwinning precious but it's absolutely a feel-good-movie! Aniston andGerarld make a great team, they're both great actors and are verylovable, the movie is extremely enjoyable and it's funny, not in thesense that your tears roll down your cheeks throughout the movie but Ipersonally noticed I had a smile on my face all the way through themovie, I honestly enjoyed every bit of it!It's light, fun, funny,sweet, enjoyable and underrated! Strongly recommended!

Pleasantly Surprised
Actually, I was really impressed with this movie. I'm a huge fan ofAniston from 'Friends' (less so her movies) & enjoyed Butler'sperformance in P.S I Love You but after reading the terrible reviews Ialmost gave this one a miss... and I'm so glad that I didn't.
The film is about Milo (Butler) you is a former cop turned bountyhunter trying to capture his ex-wife Nichole (Aniston), obviously itwas never going to be as simple as that. Nichole is working on a bigstory involving a murder.
The movie is charming and is an excellent Action-Comedy, I think a bigreason for the poor reviews is the film being marketed as a Rom-com,despite being virtually the opposite until near the end. Obviously,that and all the hate Aniston gets in general...
I'd be willing to say that anybody who goes into this film with an openmind will enjoy it, and also that most of the people dishing out poorreviews won't hate even seen the movie, merely the trailer (which doesmake the movie look a lot worse than it turned out).

Not as bad as it seems
I walked into this movie with very low expectations. I did not want tosee it at all because I thought it was going to be God-awful; however,I was pleasantly surprised. As most romantic comedies are, BountyHunter was predictable - two former lovers met again due to randomcircumstances, they dislike one another, go through some sort of crazyadventure, rekindle their spark, something goes wrong, but in the endeverything turns out all right and they end up together. Though therearen't any moments in this movie that are particularly quotable,overall I enjoyed this movie. I thought it was cute, lighthearted, funand left me with the fuzzy feeling inside that romantic comedies tendto leave. I won't pay to see this movie again, but if in the future itwas on TV I wouldn't change the channel. I give it a solid C.

2 hours I will never get back...Aaaargh!
Went to see this with pretty low expectations, thanks to some mainlynegative reviews. However, Gerard Butler's performances are usuallyquite fun to watch, and although not her biggest fan I still quite likeJennifer Anniston as a comedy performer. The trailers looked OK, so allin all not the worst foundations for a potential enjoyable flick ( ifyou ignore the reviews anyway ).
Oh how wrong I am, like so many Hollywood "Comedies" these days, thetrailers draw you in as they have ALL the funny parts of the movie.Unfortunately this means we have to endure the rest of the movie minus2 minutes of amusement.
The script writers should hold there heads in shame. Its like a 10 yearold wrote this. No quirkiness, no wit, no flair, even a usuallycharismatic Mr Butler came across as a twit thanks to this poor script.Why do films like these ever see the light of day.
Not enough laughs to be a comedy, not enough romance to be romantic, asevere lack of tension to be a thriller, not enough action to be aaction flick. I'm not sure what it was trying to be. I don't think thefilm-makers did either to be honest.
Another thing, there were loads of "surely this can't be this bad"moments. Gerards dancing then kissing a colleague, talking about thehorse incident, pretend torture scenes, Jennifers colleague and everyscene he is in. I could go on and on.
Avoid this movie at all costs, its not even a worthy DVD rental.

Sweet mediocre comedy
The Bounty Hunter is a story about a bounty hunter who has a task toget his ex-wife to jail.
This movie is not as bad as critics say. It has funny moments,especially when we watch two main characters fighting.
Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston do a great job. However, theirtalent is a bit wasted because of weak characters though there is agreat chemistry between them.
The main problem is a plot - there could have been more of it. Thewhole story just seems unfinished and wasted.
To sum up, give this comedy a try. There is a good chance you'll havefun watching it.
